The BM Fellow Program is designed for early-career professionals, recent graduates, and ambitious individuals who are serious about building a career in marketing, communications, media, or brand strategy.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered for the BM Fellow Program, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Written Application Submit a 600-word essay introducing yourself—your background, your work or area of study, what you are currently doing, and a specific, honest account of why you should be selected for this program. Generic answers will not be considered. The essay is the first test of your writing and your self-awareness.
2. Twelve-Month Commitment You are available and committed for the full duration of the program—Saturday, July 24, 2027. The program does not offer deferrals or catch-up tracks. If you cannot commit to the full twelve months from the start, this cohort is not the right moment.
3. Equipment You own and have reliable access to a functioning laptop and a smartphone. These are your professional tools for the duration of the program. Internet connectivity sufficient for weekly video sessions is required.
4. Weekly Training Availability You are available for a minimum of one hour of live online training every week for twelve months. Sessions are structured, facilitated, and require your full presence.
5. Reading Commitment You are ready to read a minimum of one book per month for the duration of the program. Books are selected and provided by the program. This is a core program requirement with a direct reflection component each month.
6. Writing Commitment You are ready to write and submit a minimum of one long-form article every week. Selected articles will be published on the Bonteh Magazine platform.
You are building a public portfolio. The quality of what you submit is what determines the quality of what gets published.
7. Attention to Detail You demonstrate, in your application, in your writing, and in your professional conduct—that you take accuracy, precision, and quality seriously.
Carelessness with detail is incompatible with the standards of this program and with the professional environment it is preparing you for.
8. Physical Discipline You are physically able and willing to run at least once per week for the duration of the program. This requirement is not incidental. Discipline is a whole-person practice. The habit of showing up for yourself physically is the same habit that makes you show up for your work, your colleagues, and your commitments professionally.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Every fellow who completes the BM Fellow Program will finish the twelve months with the following:
1. Twelve books read and applied A curated reading list covering marketing, sales, communications, brand strategy, and business thinking — one book per month, each selected to build on the previous month's learning. By the end of the program, you have read more seriously and more strategically than most marketing professionals read.
2. Marketing in the age of AI A working understanding of how artificial intelligence is reshaping marketing and communications — the tools, the implications, the opportunities, and the professional risks of ignoring it. You will leave the program knowing how to work alongside AI without being replaced by it.
3. A real portfolio A published body of work published on Bonteh Magazine's platform, campaigns you contributed to, briefs you wrote, and content you produced—that a future employer or client can read, assess, and hire you on the basis of.
4. Fifty-two published long-form articles Over twelve months, a minimum of 52 articles between 600 and 1,200 words were submitted weekly and selected for publication. Each article is reviewed, edited to Bonteh Magazine's editorial standard, and published.
5. Core marketing competencies A deep, applied understanding of the marketing concepts that separate strategic professionals from tactical ones—positioning, brand strategy, marketing, audience segmentation, messaging architecture, and campaign planning.
6. Experiential marketing The theory and practice of marketing that creates genuine audience experience rather than passive message consumption—how to design, execute, and measure marketing that people remember and talk about.
7. Campaign management The ability to read, write, and execute a full marketing brief—defining the objective, mapping the audience, setting the budget, building the timeline, assigning the deliverables, and measuring the outcome. You will leave the program able to own a campaign from brief to result.
8. Storytelling as a professional tool The foundational discipline of using narrative to communicate ideas, build brands, and move audiences. Storytelling is not a soft skill. It is the hardest and most valuable skill in marketing and communications. You will learn it the way it should be taught — by doing it repeatedly, receiving honest feedback, and doing it again.
9. Certificate of Completion Awarded to fellows who complete all twelve months in full—weekly sessions attended, monthly books read and reflected on, weekly articles submitted, and projects completed and assessed.
10. Professional visibility A permanent published profile on the Bonteh Magazine website and social media platforms — your name, your biography, your portfolio of published work, and your BM Fellow designation. This profile serves as a professional reference that remains live beyond the program and is visible to any employer, client, or institution looking for marketing and communications talent with documented capability.
