Bonteh Magazine is published by Bonteh Technologies. We take the privacy of our readers and members seriously — not as a legal obligation to discharge, but as a basic condition of the trust our journalism depends on.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
What we collect and why
When you read our website
We collect standard analytics data — pages visited, time on page, referral source, and device type — through Google Analytics. This data is aggregated and anonymized. We use it to understand what content our audience values and how the site performs.
When you sign up as a free member
We collect your email address and name. We use these to send you our newsletter and to manage your account. We do not sell this information to anyone, ever.
When you become a paying member
Your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not handle or store your card details — Stripe does. We receive confirmation that payment was made and the subscription tier you have chosen. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the payment transaction itself.
When you contact us
If you email us, we retain that correspondence for as long as it is relevant to the matter you raised.
Who we share your data with
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the magazine:
- Ghost — our publishing and membership platform, which hosts our subscriber database
- Stripe — which processes paid membership transactions
- Google Analytics—which processes anonymised site analytics
We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request that we correct inaccurate data
- Request that we delete your data
- Withdraw consent for email communications at any time (every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link)
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated
